How Rhode Island handles construction stormwater
Construction sites in Rhode Island disturbing one acre or more need coverage under the RIPDES Construction General Permit, administered by Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management. Inspect every 7 days and within 24 hours after any storm of at least 0.25″ per 24 hours and/or significant runoff. The current CGP (effective September 26, 2025) runs only to September 26, 2026 while RIDEM reissues a full-term permit — re-verify after Q3 2026.
